Irelia Springrain is the first Homunculus created by the Alchemist, Frank Stein. She had the special characteristic of being able to learn and adapt, like normal Humans.
Shortly after her creation, Frank Stein sent her to the Springrain Family, where she was adopted and spent the rest of her life until she reached adulthood. While in the care of the Springrains, Irelia met and befriended Wing Filal, an aspiring mechanic.
Wing Filal sought to end wars by creating weapons that could settle conflicts quickly. He toiled and toiled, but continually failed at creating the dream weapon. Inspired by his ambitions, Irelia joined up with the Estellion Imperial Navy. Her strict adherence to rules and regulations quickly let her rise through the ranks and she was placed in Project Moon;Driver.
She became the test pilot of the MD 00 Exbein and was said to have the potential to become the next "The Lunatic Taker". Unfortunately, during an activation test on Acheron, the M-Driver activated its First Impact, destroying most of the base.
Irelia was assumed to have been killed by the explosion. When Wing Filal heard the news, he was devastated and fell more and more into his work.
